Purification Ceremony for Old “Cho-ie” Well

As the original “Cho-ie” well has run dry, a purification ceremony took place on June 30 (Wed) at 11:00 am prior to its being filled in as part of the renovation plans to create additional space. The ceremony was conducted by Shinto Priest Murakami from nearby Takamatsu Shinmei Shrine. Eight representatives from Kamanza-cho including Mr. & Mrs. Morimura, Mr. Nakazuka, Mr. Tanaka, Mr. Sawada, Mr. Kishimoto, and Mr. Hasegawa attended as did Ms. Nishii from the Kyoto Community Collaboration Center. Also present were Kyoto Architects members Mr. Kinoshita, Mr. Oshita, and cameraman Mr. Inoue. All those participating offered prayers for the safe completion of the project.

With the dismantling of the front portion of the house, a storage shed at the back of the house was removed intact from the property. It was transferred by nine members from the Oshita Komuten Co. to property at the Meirin Neighborhood Hall where it will be used to store equipment for volunteer firefighters.
